Gas smell/alarm went off

If you notice any abnormalities, such as a strange odor even after extinguishing a flame or a gas smell after using the water heater, please promptly take the following actions and contact your nearest service office.

  1. 1 Immediately extinguish any flames.

    • Stop using gas appliances immediately.
    • Put out cigarettes as well.
    • Do not touch power outlets or switches under any circumstances. (Turning off electrical switches can sometimes create sparks and pose a danger.)

  2. 2 Ventilate

    • Open windows and doors to ventilate the area.
    • Avoid using electric ventilation fans.

  3. 3 Close the gas valve

    • Close the gas valve for the stove, the meter gas valve, and the container valve.

  4. 4 Contact Kanie JAPAN

    • Please contact the nearest Kanie JAPAN service office.
    • If the alarm goes off or the cause of the odor is unknown, please have an inspection before resuming the use of gas.
